UPDATE: O'Brien man arrested in connection with vehicle burglary ring

An O'Brien man wanted in connection with about 40 vehicle burglaries in Columbia County was arrested in Palm Beach County Sept. 26 on charges of grand theft III, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Arrest warrants from Columbia and Suwannee counties were issued for 37-year-old Jeremy Wilbur Dunkin, of 11346 Brantly Road, O'Brien. Dunkin faces burglaries charges in Columbia and failure to appear for a court hearing in Suwannee.

Sgt. Edward Seifert, public information officer for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, said Dunkin stole a vehicle in Ft. White and drove to West Palm Beach where he was arrested.

"He will face the 40 or so burglary charges here in Columbia one he gets sent back from West Palm (Beach)," said Seifert.

Dunkin was also charged with driving with a suspended license.

Two other arrests had been made previously in connection with the vehicle break-ins. Authorities here are investigating possible links to a series of similar crimes in Suwannee County.
