Presidential primary off to a slow start

Live Oak — Today's presidential preference primary is off to a slow start at most precincts in Suwannee County, Supervisor of Elections Glenda Williams said.

"It's been pretty slow, but Dowling Park is staying busy," Williams said.

Nine voters had cast their ballots at the John H. Hale Community Park and Recreation Center on Duval St. as of 9:15 a.m.

Williams said she believes voting will increase before the polls close at 7 p.m. and expects upwards of 60 percent participation.
