Live Oak —
The triple murder trial of a Suwannee County man has been continued for the second time, according to Suwannee County Felony Clerk Trudy Meeks.
Robert Lonnie Munn, who is charged in the 2010 triple murder and robbery of Joseph Militello Jr., 57, his wife Nancy L. Militello, 68 and their nephew Angelo Rosales, 32, in the McAlpin home they shared, was originally scheduled to stand trial during the week of Jan. 23-27.
The trial date was rescheduled for the week of March 26-30, but has now been continued until the week of June 25-29, with jury selection beginning on June 25, Meeks said.
Munn faces the death penalty if convicted.
Munn’s co-defendant, James Lindzay Howze, was scheduled for trial last fall but agreed to a plea bargain offered by the state. Howze was sentenced to prison for life without any chance of parole. By accepting the plea, Howze avoided facing the death penalty, and agreed to testify against Munn.
The three family members were found shot execution style, once in the back of the head in August 2010. They were found the next day by an employee of the Militellos farm.
