Closing date approaching on quota liquor licensing

Live Oak — The closing date for making application to be in the drawing for one of Suwannee County’s five coveted liquor licenses is drawing near.

The process, which began on Dec. 27, will conclude at 5 p.m., Thursday. At that time, all applications are required to be physically in the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco office of Tallahassee, with no exceptions. The double random drawing to select the persons who will be entitled to apply for the licenses will occur after all applications received have been reviewed and all candidates are determined to be eligible, DBPR states.

According to DBPR Director of Communications Sandi Copes Poreda, the length of time this will take will be determined by the number of applications received, the number of applications that include deficiencies, and the number of applications determined to be ineligible.

Anyone wishing to apply to be included in the double random drawing, or to obtain more information, may do so by visiting the DBPR online at http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/abt/index.html.
