A former secretary of Volunteer Fire Station 42 in O'Brien has been ordered to pay $5,287.89 in restitution to Suwannee County Fire/Rescue.
Susan Nazworth, a.k.a. Susan Mahn Hayes or Susan Osteen, 37, was ordered to pay restitution on Dec. 17. Nazworth was sentenced to 18 months in prison in October on charges of grand theft and fraud. Nazworth took more than $5,000 in cash from the station between November 2004 and June 2007.
Nazworth was arrested in January on charges of grand theft III and fraudulent practices. Court records show that Nazworth took at least $5,000 but not more than $10,000 with "the intent to either temporarily or permanently deprive O'Brien Volunteer Fire Department of a right to the property or a benefit."
Upon completion of her prison term, Nazworth will serve 42 months of probation with one year of community control.
