Branford —
The Buccaneers (1-0-0) defeated Trenton(0-2-0), 46-37, on Nov. 21, on the Tigers’ home court.
The ball game took a slow start in the first quarter, with Branford putting only seven points on the board. Each of the following quarters, the Bucs dropped 15 more baskets to make up the 46 points.
“We got real good minutes from our bench Vincent Ruiz and Kyle McGee, hopefully it won’t be long before we can use the full extent of our bench,” head coach Perry Davis said.
According to Davis, Clifford Register was the offensive player of the game for Branford with 17 points and 13 rebounds. He said the defensive player was Joey Stillwell with eight points and 14 rebounds for the night.
“He (Stillwell) is just incredibly fast and I have seen him grow as a player every
game,” Davis wrote in an email.
CJ Bradow scored 11 points and 15 rebounds. José Barron had 9 points and CJ
Ardilla had 1 point to finish out the players.
The Bucs’ next feat is against the Dixie County Bears at the Buccaneer Multi-Sport Complex, in Branford, at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
