Live Oak —
Andy Robinson, a local businessman, announces his candidacy for county commission District III again. In 2008, Robinson sought this position. Through his hard work and the much appreciated confidence you the voter placed in him, he was almost elected. Robinson has continued his community involvement.
Over the last four years Robinson remained actively involved in his church and volunteers for youth activities.
Robinson’s roots run deep in District III. In the 1940s, Robinson’s great-grandfather Paul purchased land in the Clayland area and since then family has resided in the District.
Robinson is married to the former Tami Brock, they have four children, Julia, Natalie, philip and Caitlyn. Robinson stated he is a devoted husband, father and Christian man.
When asked “what are your goals when elected?” Robinson responded he will work hard to ensure your safety and quality of life through the support of law enforcement, fire and rescue. Robinson also states he will work hard to reduce wasteful spending.
Robinson added he will work hard to make sure the roads are maintained and all right-of-ways are kept clean.
Robinson says he will be proactive to your needs and not simply reactive to problems as they occur. Robinson added he will be personally available to you at all times to take your needs and concerns to the board.
When asked about special interest groups, Robinson stated he has not and will not accept contributions form special interest groups. Robinson wants to be your commissioner, not theirs.
When asked about economic growth and clean industry, Robinson stated he will take these issues very seriously to promote jobs and reduce the tax burden on the working people.
Robinson is committed to conservative values. Robinson will work hard to reduce wasteful spending by keeping expenditures from increasing. Government should be accountable and live within its means just as citizens do each and everyday. Robinson’s belief is that keeping money in the pocket of its citizens is better for growth of the economy rather than higher taxes and the rapid, out of control growth of government.
Robinson believes government is best run by the people through their elected officials. Together we can make our county an even better place to live and raise our families.
Robinson will make one promise.
“I will always be available and work hard for you,” he said.
Robinson wants to be your county commissioner.
Tropical Storm Debby brought destruction with its flood waters and sink holes. My heartfelt concerns and prayers are with each and everyone of you as we overcome this tragedy.

General election candidate questionnaires - First round
Here are the first round of candidate questionnaires for the 2012 election.
We are republishing those questionnaires from the candidates that were sent out earlier this year that won the primary in August. Those questionnaires are here in these pages, published alongside the opposing candidates that were not on the primary ballot but will be on the general ballot on Nov. 6 (Those that participated).
To give you an even better sense of the candidate, we decided to ask them four more questions. Those questions and the candidate’s answers will be published in the Oct. 24 edition as well as on this web site. This will include the state attorney, sheriff and property appraiser race.
To wrap up this election cycle forum, our picks will be published in the Oct. 26 edition and on this website in addition to our thoughts on each of the 11 proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution.
We began interviewing the candidates at our office this week and getting to know them better before we make our picks.
A note to the candidates.
Oct. 26 is the last publication date that we will allow candidate announcements free of charge. You are entitled to one free announcement on the front page. Anything after that, is a paid advertisement.
Early voting commences Oct. 27. -
