Live Oak —
The Live Oak Partnership invites you to its third annual Live Oak Chocolate Festival to be held Saturday, March 16. For those who believe the four basic food groups consist of white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and truffles, this is the event not to be missed. The event will take place through the streets of downtown Live Oak.
The chocolate weekend promises to satisfy all the senses with chocolate, music, artists, crafters and demonstrations. This event will create a chocolate trail throughout the town and end Saturday night with a concert of “Chocolate Melodies.”
The Live Oak Chocolate Festival will return to the streets of Live Oak beginning at 9 a.m. with artists, crafters and chocolatiers. There will be entertainment and demonstrations throughout the day including book readings, storytelling and cooking exhibitions. From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. there will be a chocolate challenge.
The event will continue until 6 p.m. and take place at Poole Realty and Alimar Court parking lots on Howard Street East.
But that’s not all.
The fun will continue into the evening hours beginning at 6 p.m. with a free open-air concert at Millennium Park on Howard Street West, in the heart of the downtown district. “Chocolate Melodies” will be the theme for the evening as local musicians bring a showcase of music and melodies to the stage of Millennium Park. This concert will continue until 8 p.m.
Many groups and businesses within the Live Oak community will be participating in this event; several of which will be offering chocolate themed events of their own. These events and offerings will be listed on the Live Oak Partnership website (www.HistoricLiveOak.com) as they are submitted. Vendor applications are available on the site.
This year’s event is co-chaired by Richard Wright and Randy Torrance.
