Little Miss Azalea crowned today

Jasper — Little Miss Azalea 2013-14 Brylee Thompson was crowned today at the Wild Azalea Festival in White Springs.

“This is 13 years that we've been hosting the Wild Azalea Festival here in White Springs and this is the 12th annual Little Miss Azalea contest,” said Johnny Bullard, who had the honor of announcing this year's winner. “At the very first one my niece Laura Leigh Bullard was crowned and she's a senior in high school this year, so that's been a while ago,” he added.

The reigning Little Miss Azalea of 2012-13 Savannah Hogan was on hand to turn over the crown. Bullard said Savannah “did a marvelous job representing our community and our area as Little Miss Azalea.”

Savannah then had the pleasure of crowning Little Miss Azalea 2013-14 Brylee Thompson, a seven-year-old second grader who attends Five Points Elementary in Lake City. She was awarded a $250 gift card, a bouquet of flowers and a beautiful trophy. Congratulations Brylee Thompson!
