<font color="#FF0000">UPDATE:</font> 2 PCS workers injured
A Hamilton County native reportedly suffered severe burns yesterday afternoon at PCS's Suwannee River Chemical Operation when a 15-ton boom lift came in contact with a power line.
Maintenance workers were moving a motor using the boom lift when it came into contact with an overhead power line at about 12:30 p.m., according to a company press release.
Area maintenance Foreman Randy Beauchamp of Hamilton County and Electrical Area Foreman Ronald Spells of Statenville, Ga. were both injured. The men were airlifted to Shands UF, where they remain hospitalized. A condition update was not available at press time, though family members and friends say Beauchamp was severely burned.
PCS is currently investigating the incident, said spokesman Mike Williams.
"We are hopeful that both individuals will have a swift recovery," PCS General Manager Terry Baker said in a statement.
