The Hamilton County Trojans varsity baseball team played their first preseason game in Madison County against the Maclay Marauders from Tallahassee recently and lost 1-0.
Both teams produced only two hits each.
At the bottom of the seventh inning, Maclay made the run.
The hitters for the game were Kaleb Sadler and Bill Brantley
On Feb. 8, the Trojans won their second preseason game against Lafayette County with the final score of 9-8.
Dylan Brantley and Kaleb Sadler were outstanding on the mound, according to coach Bobby Eason.
Trevor Sistrunk and Dylan Brantley were leading hitters with three hits each. Sistrunk made three runs of his four hits. Wil Godwin and Ethan Land were outstanding on defense. Brett Fraley was also outstanding on the mound as he pitched six shutout innings striking out six and walking two in game against Lafayette, according to Eason. Kaleb Sadler closed out the game and Wesley Burnett drove in the winning run in the eighth.
The Trojans play the Suwannee Bulldogs today at home at 7 p.m.
The Trojans go up against Bell in another home game on Friday, Feb. 15. The junior varsity plays at 4 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
