Jasper — A 35-year-old man died in a single vehicle crash early Friday morning in Hamilton County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Jefferson Milton Kirkland was killed after the 2000 Nissan pickup he was driving struck several trees when it veered off the roadway of CR 145 around 12:26 a.m. FHP reported that Kirkland, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was traveling south on CR 145 in Hamilton County, about 200 feet north of NW 6th Drive, when his vehicle veered off the roadway and onto the west shoulder. The truck continued into the west ditch until it struck the trees with its front and left side.
Kirkland’s city of residence was not reported, according to FHP.
