Jasper —
State-assigned school grades were released this morning by the Florida Dept. of Education. North Hamilton Elementary School fell to a C from a B, and Central Hamilton Elementary remained at an F. South Hamilton Elementary, which received a C last year, received a grade of Incomplete, for reasons not yet clear.
Under new criteria which further discounts FCAT scores, the grade for Hamilton County High, which received an F last year, won’t be released until November.
Hamilton's overall grade computed to a D, same as in 2008-09.
No county school achieved Adequate Yearly Progress, a component of the federal No Child Left Behind program.
School grades were released after an independent audit showed this year’s FCAT scores, called into question in many districts, were accurate, according to FDOE
