Jasper —
Hamilton County High School junior Tyler Warfel recently competed in the regional science fair in Lake City. Warfel’s project received second place in the senior environmental division of the fair and he will represent the school at the state science fair in Lakeland in March. Superintendent Tom Moffses commended Warfel for his hard work and dedication on his project, stating, “I wish him outstanding success as he competes at the state level.”
In addition, Warfel was chosen for the GENIUS Olympiad, an international high school project competition about environmental issues. The competition is co-organized by the State University of New York at Oswego and the Terra Science and Education Foundation. GENIUS Olympiad 2013 will be held in New York in June.
Congratulations, Tyler, and best of luck as you represent the high school and Hamilton County at both of these events!
