For interested citizens of Hamilton County the Jasper News decided to print the three highest paying taxpayers in the county and where those funds are distributed.
First off, the 2012 millage rates were:

The following tax amounts are the gross amount and each taxpayer received a four percent discount.
According to Hamilton County Tax Collector Mary Sue Adams, “When taxes are paid in November, the taxpayer gets a four percent discount on the March amount of tax. December is a three percent discount, January is two percent, and February is one percent. The gross amount is due by March 31.”
