Jasper —
Access to the three boat ramps at Eagle Lake will be closed temporarily for approximately 90 days due to construction.
PotashCorp-White Springs (PCS) plans to rebuild the culvert at Eagle Lake in Hamilton County. This will be built next to the old structure, which is next to the boat ramp, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) freshwater fish biologist Brian Hilton.
“This means the boat ramp area will be used for parking of construction equipment and materials, which necessitates closure of this ramp,” Hilton said.
The road that continues around the lake to other boat ramps will also be closed off due to construction.
“There will be no boat ramp access available at Eagle Lake starting May 1,” Hilton said. “The project is expected to be completed in 90 days.”
The ramps at Lang Lake, also at PotashCorp-White Springs, remain open.
