Fire leaves family homeless

"We have nothing - only the clothes we have on. These shoes aren't even mine." - Natosha Kelley

Wednesday morning Natosha Kelley, 26, was asleep on the couch in the living room of her home at 16973 Sunrise Drive in White Springs. When she awoke, she smelled smoke and saw the corner of the house on fire. The small wood frame structure was soon engulfed in flames. The family members who were at home - Debra Coleman, 45, Darren Kelley, 22, Norman Snyder Jr., 12, and Devante Young, 4 - got out of the burning building safely. Oliver Young, 32, was at work in Lake City and arrived at the scene to find a burnt shell of a house and his family with only the clothes they were wearing. Anyone who has items to donate to the family may contact them at 397-2742.
