A Macclenny woman died Saturday night in an ATV accident in Hamilton County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Reports show that just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, Courtney Brooke Treece, 20, Macclenny, was a passenger on a 2010 Polaris Ranger driven by her husband James Allen Treece, 21, Macclenny. They were traveling westbound on SE 62 Drive in Hamilton County approaching a left curve when the driver over-corrected his steering to the left, which caused his wife to fall out of the vehicle and strike her head on the roadway. Courtney Treece was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Charges are pending a further investigation, according to FHP.
