E.V. Stormant, of White Springs, Fla. passed away early on Oct. 3, 2012 at the age of 97. He was born on Oct. 10, 1914 in White Springs, FL.  to the late Edmond and Addie Lee Stormant.  Mr.  E.V. worked full time as an Agricultural Inspector with the State of Florida Department of Agriculture.  Following his retirement in 1979, he enjoyed farming, raising livestock and holding an annual “cane grinding and syrup making” event on his small farm located about one mile from his birthplace.  Mr. Stormant was well respected on his job, in his community and in his church. He served an eight year term on the Hamilton County School Board during a pivotal time in Hamilton County. Mr. E.V. was concerned about the students and the future of White Springs, Jasper and Jennings. He was also an active member, deacon, teacher and elder at Long Branch Congregational Methodist Church where he attended most of his life. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Marion Cox and a grandson, Jason Harrell.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Doris Williams Stormant; three sons, Ted Wayne Stormant (Phyllis), Ft. White, Fla., John Francis Stormant (Susan), Alachua, Fla., and Charlie Vernon Stormant (Donna), Douglas, Ga.; two daughters, Linda Ellen Tomlinson, Lake City, Fla. and Judith Elaine Harrell, Alachua, Fla.; one brother, Willie Stormant, Weirsdale, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Long Branch Congregational Methodist Church with the Reverend Tommy Lindsey and Rev. Veronica Thomas officiating.  Interment followed at Prospect Cemetery near White Springs. Pallbearers were grandsons, William Cox, Thomas Tomlinson, Gary Cox, Daren Stormant, Glenn Harrell, Michael Stormant, Steven Stormant, Shad Stormant and Drake Stormant.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL.  was  in charge of arrangements.
