Jasper — Marie Lee

Jan. 5, 1956 - April 6, 2012



Marie Lee, age 56, of Jennings, Fla., passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. Marie was born in Valdosta, Georgia on Jan. 5, 1956 to the late Charlie “C.H.” and Hazel Pollock Lee. She was a lifelong resident of Jennings. She worked for many years as a seamstress at both Jasper Textile and Levi Strauss. More recently she worked at Jennings Mini Mart. She was a member at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents C.H. and Hazel Lee, a sister, Lillie Belle Strickland and a sister-in-law, Debbie Lee.

Survivors include three brothers, Wendell Lee (Darlene), Lake Park, Ga., Raymond Lee (Bobbie), Valdosta, Ga., and Mike Lee, Jasper, Fla.; two sisters, Linda Joyce Harrell, Jennings, Fla. and Jo Bass (Darryl), Statenville, Ga.; a brother-in-law, William Strickland, a special aunt, Kitty Burnham, her two special boys, T.J. and Evan Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, several aunts and her best friend, Lisa Hutchinson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Spencer Smith-Corbett officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Church Cemetery near Jennings.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. was in charge of arrangements.
