Jasper — John Allen Scaff

Jan. 28, 1938 - Dec. 11, 2011

John Allen Scaff, age 73, of Jasper, Fla. passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 following an extended illness. John Allen was born Jan. 28, 1938 to the late Leon Earl and Rebecca Grace Tyre Scaff. He was a retired welder, heavy equipment operator and supervisor at P.C.S. (Occidental) in White Springs. Following his retirement he enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. John Allen was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Joshua Scaff. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Mark Scaff (DeNese), Jasper, Fla.; one daughter, Susan Lenhart (Curtis), Quaker City, Ohio.; three sisters,  Joanne Young, Kitty Beck and Ellen Deas, all of Jennings, Fla.; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 15 between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper.

Michael Lucas

Dec. 6, 2011

Mr. Michael Lucas, age 89, of Jennings, Fla. passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at his home following an illness of some time. Mr. Lucas was born in Byesville, Ohio and was a retired machinist. Lucas was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Lucas, Jennings, Fla.; seven sons, Phillip Lucas,  Cambridge, Ohio., Michael Lucas,  Senecaville, Ohio, David Lucas,  Baltimore, MD., Paul Lucas, Fulton, Mont., Joseph Lucas, Cambridge, Ohio., John Lucas, Cambridge, Ohio., and Steven Lucas, of Fulton, Mont.; three daughters, Theresa Hunter and Susan Brill, both of Jennings, Fla., Lillian Clendenning, Senecaville, Ohio.; two sisters, Dorothy Karas and Helen Lucas, Byesville, Ohio.; 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Jasper, Fla.

Per his wishes Mr. Lucas will be cremated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4237 Salisbury RD, Jacksonville, FL. 32216.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. was in charge of arrangements.
