Lady Trojans win over Jefferson County

The Lady Trojan Volleyball Team had a win and a loss this past week. On Tuesday, October 6, they won the match against Jefferson County with some amazing stats!

Paige Fenneman had 17 service points; 16 were aces. Captain Jasmine Dobson got eight with five aces. Following Jasmine with six each were MiKayla Byrd and Emily Carter. Co-Captain Blake Daniels had five service points and an amazing defensive game!

Stepping up her game was Brooke Burnam with three. Libby Young, one of the setters, and usually a front line player, made her serving debut with three service points all were aces.

On Thursday, October 8, the Lady Trojans traveled to Tallahassee to meet Maclay High. Maclay is a private, college-prep school with top ranking in the state. The Lady Trojans met Maclay early in the season and were defeated then and this week. However, Coach Perez was pleased to hear from many Maclay fans that they could see improvement in the playing abilities of our team.

Coach Hannah Perez said, “I know our girls are capable of winning this week’s matches. They just have to play with confidence and the belief that they can win.”

The season is winding down and the Lady Trojans will be hosting Suwannee County on October 15 at 5:00 p.m. The next week they will travel to Columbia and Madison counties, winding up their regular season matches hosting Newberry High on October 22.

Make plans to come out and support the team for these last two Thursday evening games. The fans are important to the girls and add so much excitement to the games!
