The 2009 Lady Trojan Volleyball season came to a close on Tuesday, October 27th.
The ladies played in the district tournaments at Maclay High in Tallahassee this past week. The Lady Trojans made it to the second round of play after defeating Jefferson County. During the second round the ladies were defeated by Maclay; the number one team in the district.
Despite the loss, the Lady Trojans played an amazing game. Coach Hannah Perez said, “I knew going into this season that it would be a time for building and strongly feel a solid foundation has been laid for an outstanding season next year. Ten of the eleven girls will be returning with the experience to take them to the next level.” Coach Perez went on to say, “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank JV Coach Kim Fenneman for her assistance, Nicole Hunter for keeping records, and student volunteer Paul Umstead for his assistance and announcing the games. A special thank you goes to Rick and Mantha Young for providing Gatorade for the team during games and to the parents, families, and fans for their support. Last, but not least, a most special thanks, with love, to my husband Ruben Perez for his support and help. See you next year!”
