John William Duran, formerly of Fort White, was sentenced Thursday to 13 years in prison for three counts of sexual battery on a juvenile between the ages of 15 and 16, and one count of second degree lewd or lascivious molestation of a child.

The crimes took place between 2005 to 2007 in Georgia and in Suwannee, Columbia, and Gilchrist counties, according to a sheriff's report.

In addition to prison, Duran, 34, must serve 15 years’ probation and register as a sex offender.
