Big Elvis show set for Saturday

Live Oak — Elvis fans, Teddy Mac and Matthew Spalding fans, make your plans now to attend the big Elvis show Saturday at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak. Regional Elvis Tribute Artist winner Matthew Spalding of Atlanta will portray the King during his younger years and Ted “Teddy Mac” McMullen will portray Elvis during Elvis’ jumpsuit era.

Ted McMullen is a nationally known Elvis Tribute Artist who has performed numerous Elvis tribute shows at the SOSMP and many other venues in jumpsuit-era Vegas style outfits, military uniforms and other Elvis outfits. Ted hosts karaoke every Monday and Thursday, as well as hosting many Friday evening dances in the Music Hall where he teaches line dancing. Each year Ted hosts the regional I’ll Remember You Elvis Tribute Artist contest where his July 31 special guest, Matthew Spalding of Atlanta, took the title in 2007 and 2010. Matthew has an all new show for his many fans that is sure to please. Among the other guests will be Dale Bennett as Loretta Lynn and Keith Thrift as Conway Twitty.

Matthew Spalding will represent the North Florida area Aug. 10-15 in Memphis when he competes in the Images of the King contest for the world title. The Memphis event will be held on the 33rd anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death. Matthew performs as an Elvis Tribute Artist around the Atlanta area and throughout the Southern United States with great success.

Admission Saturday night is $10 per person. Thursday and Friday night admission is $5 with the $5 applied to your food and beverage tab for those evenings only. As always, the SOS Café and Restaurant will be open to delight your culinary senses with delicious specials, regular menu items and a variety of beverages at regular prices. Bring the entire family with you to enjoy this wonderful event!

The Music Hall opens July 29, 30 & 31 at 5 p.m. with music beginning at 7 p.m. as it always does when Teddy Mac is in the house. The Music Hall remains open Thursday night until 10 p.m., serving dinner until 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday night until 1 a.m., serving dinner until 10 p.m. The SOS Café and Restaurant is always open during special events and opens for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets sell fast for Elvis shows so purchase your general admission tickets now for the evening, no special seating reservations please! Call the SOSMP at 386-364-1683 to get your tickets. Tickets will also be on sale at the door until the house is full.
