Mayo — Hamilton County Trojans head coach Patrick Murphy celebrates with his boys varsity basketball team following their 49-47 victory over the Melody Christian Academy Wildcats in the FHSAA District 5-1A Championship game in Mayo, Fla. Saturday night. The Trojans will host the District 6 runner-up in their regional semifinal game on Thursday, Feb. 14 and the Wildcats will be on the road for their semifinal game to face the District 6 champions. A motorhome was destroyed by fire late Tuesday afternoon shortly after the owner discovered flames were coming from the engine compartment, according to Suwannee County Fire Chief James Sommers.

There is a prescribed control burn in Hamilton County at Stephen Foster State Park in the area of US 41 in White Springs which could cause smoke issues and could possibly impact the roadways in this area, especially during the night and early morning hours.
