Live Oak —
Jackie-Jo Brinson of Live Oak proudly said yes when her fiancee, John Joseph Joyce III proposed on Nov. 5, 2011. Now, the question is, will she say yes to her wedding dress?
That question will be answered this Friday when Jackie-Jo appears on the television show, “Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta.” The show is to air at 9 p.m. EST on TLC, Jackie-Jo said.
“We’re so glad it’s going to air,” she exclaimed.
Jackie-Jo, a local attorney, is the daughter of Tony and Cheryl-Mae Brinson of Live Oak.
According to Jackie-Jo, the idea of being on the show has been a few years in the making.
“I’ve always loved watching ‘Say Yes to the Dress,’ but it was originally filmed in New York,” the bride-to-be said. “When Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta began airing, I promised myself that I would apply for the show.”
Just one day after accepting her fiancee’s proposal of marriage, Jackie-Jo fulfilled that promise to herself and applied for the show. Less than one month later, TLC contacted Jackie-Jo to cast her for the reality show, she said. According to Jackie-Jo, the show follows sassy southern brides on their hunt for the perfect wedding dress.
In December, Jackie-Jo was accompanied to Atlanta by her mom, sister Lacy Lee and future mother-in-law, Jan Johnson of Ft. Myers to film the show.
Jackie-Jo isn’t saying whether or not she said yes to the dress.
“You’ll have to watch and see,” she says.
She and Joyce have planned their Ft. Myers wedding for this May.
