Live Oak —
A motorcyclist walked away from a collision with a car Wednesday afternoon thanks in part to wearing a protective helmet, rescue workers at the scene said.
When personnel from the Live Oak Fire Department, Live Oak Police Department and Suwannee County Fire/Rescue arrived at the scene on South Ohio Avenue, in front of Pizza Hut, they were relieved to find the rider of the motorcycle walking around.
The motorcyclist’s injuries did not appear to be serious and the driver of the car involved was not injured, according to an eyewitness of the accident.
According to LOPD Lt. Keith Davis, the rider of the motorcycle refused treatment and was not transported to a hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported that when the car and motorcycle collided, the motorcyclist landed on the hood of the car and then collided with the car’s windshield before falling off.
