Live Oak —
A Suwannee County man has been arrested after attempting to burn his neighbor’s home, according to reports from the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office.
James Hughens, 50, 8826 157th Rd., Live Oak, placed a piece of lighter wood in a plastic milk crate filled with pine straw and placed it against the victim’s mobile home on April 26, according to the SCSO. Authorities say that Hughens then lit the crate afire, causing about $100 in damages to the home before the victim arrived and extinguished the fire.
According to reports, Hughens was arrested on April 27 on one count of arson.

Live Oak college student no longer missing
The Live Oak college student who was reported missing Wednesday after he missed a scheduled flight to Russia with his college class and couldn't be found, is fine. Walker Helvenston called his family Saturday and said he missed his flight. He was reportedly driving back to Live Oak Saturday, his dad Brant Helvenston said.
