Live Oak —
A Live Oak woman was taken by Suwannee County EMS to Shands of Live Oak early Thursday morning with minor injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident on US 90 in front of Suwannee Correctional Institute.
Keri B. Lynn, 24, of Live Oak, was driving east on US 90 in her 2011 Chevrolet Malibu around 6:38 a.m. Daniel Mittowell, 23, of Mayo, the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck, was stopped in the westbound turn lane on US 90.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mittowell “had stopped for an eastbound vehicle. After the vehicle passed, he made a left turn towards the main entrance to SCI.”
Lynn’s vehicle struck the right rear side of Mittowell’s pickup truck pushing it in a southerly direction making the vehicle rotate clockwise the report said. Mittowell’s vehicle came to a final rest at the white stop line for the exit lanes of SCI, in a northerly position. Lynn’s Malibu came to rest with the front end of the vehicle also on the white stop line, but facing in a southerly direction with the rear end of the vehicle in the southern edge of the eastbound lane of US 90, FHP reported.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Lynn’s airbag was deployed due to the impact. Mittowell sustained no injuries. He was cited with failure to yield right of way.
