Live Oak —
There is no greater love than from an animal, unfortunately, some are to ignorant to understand that! Once again, some piece of trash has dropped off three kittens at my home! It is unfair that I am left to see these poor scared to death animals that inconvenienced you. It breaks my heart not to mention having to see my child upset! If you cannot take the responsibility of having an animal or having it spayed or neutered then don't have it at all...it's really just that simple!!!

I am a citizen who recieves medicaid because I cannot work i am upset because a local transportation comapny is so unorganzized they have forgotten me twice so i had to reschedule and they are rude to boot. what are we susposed to do? If u depend on the system and the system fails what do we got? Not a thing. Get it together LIVEOAK

While a "generation dying off" is one solution, we can't afford to wait. The voters could cause a political demise starting now. The offices of school sup't, property appraiser, & 2 commision seats would be a good place to begin. Quit electing 70+ yr. olds over & over & expect results from the same old bunch. Ain't gonna happen! Try a charter for the county( like the city operates under) & we can't prevent this from repeating itself 40 more yrs.

We are all struggling to breathe outdoors from this forest fire burning near Lake City and all the smoke laying heavily over our community. Why then do my neighbors start a bonfire in their yard? Can we show just a little consideration for others? The city picks up the garbage, they pick up the yard trash (eventually), so what are you burning? There is NO NEED to burn anything in your yard!! It affects the breathing of everyone around you. Why should we have to keep our windows closed on a beautiful day at this beautiful time of year because of your bonfires? Think about it, please!

I would liek to express the delight I felt over the quality of booths that were in the cities Flea Across Florida this weekend. I have also become impressed with the exceptional antique & second hand stores we have here. I can’t believe that the powers that be haven’t put a sign on I-10 telling they’re here. Live Oak also needs a bulletin board by the museum or Court House to keep current happenings before those who don’t take the paper.

The youth group from Clayland Baptist Church would like to thank everyone that purchased a smoked Boston butt to help support the youth camps for us this summer. The support was great, and most of all we want to thank Mr. Barney from Big Daddy’s B-B-Q restaurant for the wonderful job and the support he gave us.

It’s a pity there are people of all ages in Live Oak and surrounding areas fighting and some dying from the battle with cancer. We don’t even know if there’s a Relay for Life this year in the county. Who’s the chairperson? When’s the date and the time of the event? Why don’t they advertise? This is a well needed event.

My 10th grade child took the FCAT reading test today at SHS. The reading coach who administered the test encouraged her class to "do good". I'm happy to hear of the encouragement but I'd be happier if it were the grammatically correct "do well".
