Curtis Lavon Butler a resident of Orlando, Fla. and a former resident Live Oak, Fla. passed away Jan. 23, 2012 in Orlando, Fla. Mr. Curtis Lavon Butler was a retired 1st Sargent in the United States Army.
Mr. Curtis Lavon Butler is survived by his wife, Eunice Butler; children: Akim Butler Alford, Curtis L. Butler Jr. and Joshua Butler; one child preceded him in death Lavonda Butler Tracey; eleven grandchildren; two brothers: Samuel Butler (Susie and Melvin Butler Sr. (Debbie); father and mother-in-law: JD and Lorene Brown; brother-in-laws: Lamar Brown Sr. and Charles Brown (Denita); sister-in-laws: Lynda Owens, Alma Brown, Janice Akins (Roberts), Venessa Stevenson ((Stanley), Stephanie Arnold (Rodriquez) and Feleasha Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and other sorrowing friends.
Funeral services for Curtis Lavon Butler will be Sat., Feb. 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the African Baptist Church, Rev. Alex Fountain, pastor. Burial will be in the Rock Cut Cemetery. Visitation for Family and Friends will be Fri., Feb. 3, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Brenda Futch, 51, Live Oak, Fla., passed away on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 after a long illness. She was life long resident of Live Oak.
Mrs. Futch is survived by her husband: Jasper E. Futch, Live Oak, Fla.; mother: Lillie Graham, Live Oak, Fla.; two daughters: Brenda L. Futch, Live Oak, Fla.; Angela Futch, Live Oak, Fla.; two sisters: Linda, Keystone Heights, Fla., Diana Brim, Live Oak, Fla.; two brothers: Roger Dale Graham, Live Oak, Fla.; Doyle Curtis Graham, Live Oak, Fla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James Morrison Newman
Nov. 15, 1927 - Jan. 27, 2012
James Morrison Newman, 84, of Pine River, Minnesota, passed away Jan. 27, 2012 after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 15, 1927 in Edgefield, S.C., the son of the late Ruth Morrison Newman and Fred Lee Newman Sr. He was the fourth of seven children.
Jim was a graduate of Suwannee High School in Live Oak, and received an associate degree in real estate science at Lake City Community College. Jim was a veteran of two wars and was awarded the bronze star for distinguished service. He retired from the United States Navy in 1984 with over 21 years of dedicated service. Jim was a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Atomic Veterans of America. In addition, he was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Live Oak, Fla.
Jim is survived by his son, James B. Newman of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Audene Newman Gordon of Roselle, Ill.; four grandchildren, Jamie Newman, Michael Newman, Megan Sgaramella and Deralyn Gordon Fridell and one great granddaughter, Madeleine Grace Sgaramella. He is also survived by three sisters, Zoe Ann Gamble of Live Oak, Francis Moore of Live Oak, Dorothy Teal of Hephzibah, Ga., and friend James Ross of Pine River.
A military service honoring and remembering Jim’s life will be held at the Live Oak Cemetery, Monday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. At the request of the family a memorial contribution to the American Heart Association is suggested in lieu of flowers.

Allen Bryant Tyree Jr.

Allen Bryant Tyree Jr., age 52, of Jasper, Fla., passed away at his home Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012. Allen was born on Jan. 30, 1959 to the late A.B. Tyree, Sr. and Mary Magdalyn Dees Tyree and was a lifetime resident of Hamilton County. Allen worked for the University of Florida, state and county as the County Cooperative Extension Agent. He was always compassionate and devoted a lot of time helping others. Allen was also interested in the cemeteries in Hamilton County. He volunteered a great deal of time taking care of old graves sites and was interested in preserving the history of Hamilton County. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his two sisters, Jane Tyree Lowe (Terry), of Wellborn, Fla.. and Angela Tyree Miller (David), Jasper, Fla..; his nieces and nephew, Tara Lowe Dwayne Phillips), Tiffany Lowe Stubbs (Brandon), and William Lowe (Natalie); one great niece, Addison Stubbs; numerous dearly loved cousins, family and friends. The mention of all of the special family members would be impossible but the family would like to include his aunt, Nedra Tyre and his great aunt, Irene Vaughn.
Memorial services were held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 6592 NW 48th St., Jennings, FL. 32053 or North Florida Animal Rescue, 137 South, Wellborn, FL. 32094.
