Live Oak —
Brandon Cunningham, the 18-year-old Suwannee High School student who crashed into the back of a school bus Wednesday morning, is doing better, family said.
"Brandon is doing very good," said aunt Susan Ramsey. "He is no longer in ICU and should be home before Christmas. He is expected to make a full recovery."
Family members said that the sun was shining brightly as it was coming up early Wednesday morning, and blocked his view of the road. The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on US 90 West at 74th Street, about three miles west of Live Oak.
Cunningham was air lifted to Shands Gainesville. Forty-eight students on the bus and the driver were sent to Shands Live Oak as a precaution. None of the students or driver received serious injuries.
