Live Oak — A Live Oak man has been jailed for the sexual battery of a woman and holding her against her will, the Live Oak Police Department reported.
According to a press release by the LOPD, the victim went to the home of Reggie T. Weatherspoon, 37, Live Oak, to visit a friend. Once at the home, the victim and Weatherspoon were talking when Weatherspoon reportedly began touching and making sexual advances toward the victim, reports show.
When the victim attempted to leave the residence, she found that Weatherspoon had locked the door and she could not exit the house.
“At this point, the defendant grabbed the victim by the arms and threw her down on the couch,” LOPD Det. Justin Bates stated in a press release.
According to Bates, Weatherspoon then sexually forced himself on the victim without her consent. Although the victim attempted to escape, she could not leave until Weatherspoon released her, reports show.
Weatherspoon was arrested Feb. 8 and booked into the Suwannee County Jail on charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment.
