Police make arrest in hit and run

Live Oak — Police have made an arrest following an early Sunday morning hit and run, according to a press release from the Live Oak Police Department.

Luis Jhovani Hilario, 20, 1412 5th St., backed his vehicle out of a 6th Street driveway around 2 a.m. May 6 and into the victim’s vehicle that was parked along the curb.

Records show that Hilario fled the scene without speaking with the owner of the vehicle he collided with and was located a short time later with the vehicle.

“Hilario admitted to hitting the vehicle and leaving without telling the other vehicle owner,” LOPD Det. Justin Bates stated.

Hilario was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and no drivers license.
