Rheunette Ramsey

Rheunette Ramsey, age 81 of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. She was born in Georgia and lived most of her life in Live Oak. Rheunette was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved cooking and spending time with her family. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and sharing her beautiful work with her friends and family and was a member of the Marybelle Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Ramsey and a son Don Nelson.
She is survived by two sons, Freddie Ramsey and Chris (Tamara) Ramsey, two daughters, Diane (Jimmy) McMillian and Susan Ramsey all of Live Oak; one brother, Gene Pitts, Leesburg, Ga.; two sisters, Sandra Moncus and Sharon Spiers, both of Smithville, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held, Sunday, May 6 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 in the Marybelle Baptist Church with Rev. Lewis Gooch and Rev. David McKeithen officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Alma West
March 7, 2012
Alma West, age 83, died March 7, 2012. For many years a resident of Live Oak, Mrs. West was born in Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Peabody College in Nashville in 1950 and earned her Master’s Degree there three years later. She taught second grade at Lincoln Elementary School in Kingsport, Tenn. until after she married James C. West of Kingsport.
They were the parents of four children: Pat (wife Suzanne), Lucy (husband Dean Agresta), Dan (wife Margaret) and Mary (husband Patrick Reagan). She is also survived by her brother, Dan Reilly of Black Mountain, N.C., as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband of 57 years died 10 months previously.
Mrs. West had a great love for children and young people and volunteered at church and public schools until earlier this year. A memorial service will be held at First Methodist Church in Live Oak on Saturday, May 12 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for the Florida Methodist Children’s Home, 51 Children’s Way, Enterprise, FL 32725 or library books for the Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy, 3010 Cobb Pkwy NW, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
