Suwannee County court sentences handed down

Live Oak — Third Circuit Judge James Roy Bean handed down two prison sentences and a 12 month jail sentence during court proceedings on April 5, according to records from the Suwannee County Clerk of the Court.

Joseph Stephen Little, 39, who is currently serving time in Alachua County, was sentenced to 364 days in the Suwannee County Jail. Little’s sentence stems from a November 2011 arrest in which he was charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, possession of 20 grams of marijuana or less and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to court records, Little’s sentence is to run concurrent with his Alachua County sentence.

Also sentenced on April 5 was Trumane Jewette, Ross, 18, 19528 CR 132, Live Oak. Ross was sentenced to 24 months in the Florida Department of Corrections for burglary of a dwelling, burglary while armed, and grand theft III. In addition, Ross will serve six years of probation, two of which will run consecutive to his prison sentence. According to reports from the Suwannee County Clerk of the Court, Ross will serve the first year of his probation on community control.

A four year sentence was handed down to Aniaus Devarus Ray on the same day. Ray’s sentencing came from August 2011 charges of principle to shooting into an occupied vehicle/vessel and principle to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. In addition, Ray will serve five years of drug offender probation, which will run consecutive to his prison sentence.

Roderick L. Livingston, 24, who is currently serving a prison sentence on other charges, also appeared before Judge Bean on April 5. Livingston was charged with felony battery with great bodily harm, but because the statute of limitations had ran out, his case was dismissed.
