Reginald Heber Helvenston

Reginald Heber Helvenston of Little Rock passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.  He was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Live Oak, Fla., the son of Reginald Heber Helvenston, Sr. and Edna Baulch Helvenston. 
He was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and during World War II, served aboard a patrol craft as a sonarman in the South Pacific.  After the war he graduated from the University of Texas where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta and a letterman in swimming in 1947 and 1948.  From 1950 to 1957 he was a fieldman for Aetna Insurance Company and owned and operated Helvenston & Co., a local fire and casualty agency, until his retirement in 1982.  
He was a vestryman and served several times as Senior Warden of St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Little Rock.  He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Trinity Lodge #694, Scottish Rite Bodies, Scimitar Shrine Temple and the Country Club of Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Buzbee Helvenston; daughter, Ellen A. Tolley and husband, Steve of Perryville, AR; grandchildren, Travis Tolley and wife, Kelly and Hallie Tolley Finkbeiner and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Ella Jane, Carter and Harper; brother, Phelps Helvenston and wife, Pat of Flagstaff, Arizona and two nephews.
A memorial service was held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi St., Little Rock on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Danny Schieffler. Burial will be at Mount Holly Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a favorite charity.  Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

Earle “Boochie” Bullock

Earle “Boochie” Bullock, 83, Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Thursday, Dec.13, 2012 after a short illness. The Lakeland, Fla. native lived most of his life in Live Oak and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Bullock was a farmer and gardener, he also enjoyed traveling and his church family. He retired after 40 years working at Guerdon Industry in Lake City, Fla. from 1955-1972 and Homes of Merit also in Lake City from 1972-1995. Mr. Bullock is survived by his wife of 61 years: Frances Bullock, Live Oak, Fla.; two daughters: Pam D’Amour, Papillion, NB, Angela B. Sealey, Labelle, Fla.; one son: Mitchell Bullock, Wellborn, Fla.; six grandchildren: Brandon, Jacy, Danielle, Travis, Laura, Lindsay and one great-grandchild: Bayli. He was preceded in death by his son: Kendall Bullock and mother Martha Bullock. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.18, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Wally Weaver officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Lauretta F. Hogan

Lauretta F. Hogan, 79, Wellborn, Fla. passed away on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 after a short illness. The Florence, SC native moved to Wellborn in 1965 from Jupiter, Fla. and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wellborn, Fla. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Wilbur P. Hogan, Wellborn, Fla.; three sons: David & Wanda Hogan, Wellborn, Fla., Larry hogan, Ocala, Fla., Tommy Hogan, Wellborn, Fla.; two grandchildren: Craig & Kelli Hogan, Robert & Kay Hogan; five great-grandchildren: Hailey Hogan, Casey Hogan, Audrey Hogan, Ross Hogan, Hunter Hogan; a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Wally Weaver and Rev. Louis Gooch officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Jack Ussrey

Jack Ussrey, 77, Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012. The Leominster, MA native moved to Live Oak from Apopka, Fla. ten years ago. He served in the Army and was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Live Oak. Mr. Ussrey is survived by his wife of 53 years: Mary C. Ussrey, Live Oak, Fla.; one daughter: Tonia Warren, Rockledge, Fla.; two sons: Steve Ussrey, Cheektowaga, NY, Keith Ussrey, Apopka, Fla.; two sisters: Betty Harrison, Ocee, Fla., Mag Ussrey, Leominster, MA; one brother: Dick Ussrey, AL; six children and two great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Hinchliffe officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery. Robert Wagner

Robert Wagner, age 92 of Dowling Park, Fla. passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Shands Live Oak.  He was native of Erie, PA moving to Dowling Park, Fla. in August 1993 from Gainesville, Fla.. He was a WWII veteran having served in the Army Air Corp. He was a teacher for the Volusia County School System and was a world traveler who loved the opera, listening to music, speaking French and was known for his wonderful sense of humor.  He was a member of the Village Church in Dowling Park.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth Wagner, Shiloh, IL; three daughters, Jackie Wagner, Columbia, MO; Joanne Prankerd, Melbourne, Australia; Laura Griggs, Olatha, KS; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park.
