Cooler temperatures, along with a 60 percent chance of rain, are on the horizon for our area, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS is calling for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures reaching around 91 degrees. Those showers and thunderstorms are expected to remain tonight with overnight lows dipping to around 61 degrees. Forecasters say that showers will likely end before 3 a.m. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation tonight, the NWS reports.
According to the NWS, mostly sunny skies are expected to return on Thursday with daytime highs around 86 degrees and the temperature is expected to be around 54 degrees Thursday night. The NWS predicts sunny skies on Friday with temperatures reaching about 89 degrees and cooling back down to around 58 degrees Friday night.
A slight chance of rain will be back in the forecast for Saturday, forecasters say. The NWS is calling for a 20 percent chance of rain on Saturday and a 30 percent chance on Sunday. Daytime highs are expected to be in the upper 80s over the weekend with nighttime lows around 62.
