Ta-Trease Sapp, a paraprofessional at Suwannee-Hamilton Technical Center, has been named school-related employee of the year.

Friday morning, Superintendent Jerry Scarborough and SHTC Principal Dianne Westcott, surprised Sapp with the announcement in a room filled with SHTC and district office staff.

"This is such a great surprise," said Sapp. "I would like to thank my SHTC co-workers for selecting me as school-related employee of the year and a heart-felt thanks to the selection committee for choosing me to represent the district."

A Suwannee County fifth grader mesmerized students, parents and faculty during the Suwannee Intermediate School Spring Talent Show Thursday evening.
Brittanie Powell performed “I Will Always Love You” which was immortalized by the late Whitney Houston. It was Brittanie’s first performance and she selected the song a few weeks ago after watching a contestant perform it on American Idol.
