Live Oak — Message from Director of Libraries, Betty Lawrence:
The Live Oak Public Library opened (Monday) offering full library services to the community.
Thanks to everyone for your support and understanding during the past few weeks. Your visits, calls and willingness to take care of books in your homes while we prepared to reopen helped tremendously.
It is said that times like these bring out both the best and worst in people. The library is fortunate. We have experienced the best in 99.5 percent of our community.
When I experience times like these I remember my days as a sixth grade student in Suwannee County Schools in O’Brien. My class was required to learn and recite the poem “IF” http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/175772 by Rudyard Kipling. Little did I know that my teacher, the late Chestine Curry, was preparing me to cope with tough times.
Welcome home everyone, we missed you.
Betty Lawrence, Director of Libraries, Suwannee River Regional Library System.
