The Suwannee County School Board will meet in the school board meeting room at 702 2nd St., NW, Live Oak, on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 1 and 3 p.m. The following will be discussed at 1 p.m. in a workshop: budget, facilities, contracts, personnel issues, curriculum issues, policy issues.
The following will be discussed at 3 p.m.: Expulsion issues (private)
School board meetings are open to the public with the exception of expulsion issues, which are private. Anyone present wishing to appeal any decision made during the regular meeting will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the meeting is made, including any testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

FWC visits with gator
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officer D. Mobley stopped by the Democrat offices Wednesday afternoon with this alligator that he had just caught in a Hamilton County pond. Mobley will be showing another alligator to students at Suwannee Primary School on Thursday along with other wildlife as part of an FWC event.
