A suspect in the robbery of a Mayo bank this morning is in custody. The man, whose name has not been released, told a teller at Lafayette State Bank that he had a gun, according to deputy Randy Henderson of the Lafayette County Sheriffs Office.
Police pursued the man across two counties before his eventual arrest. Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspect was in fact armed. It is not clear how much money, if any, was stolen.
More information as it becomes available.
