Our View: A word on The Last Word

Suwannee Democrat

Live Oak — As is customary, the editorial board of the Suwannee Democrat decides on questions to ask each candidate that has qualified to run for office. We run those questions and answers from each candidate in the last edition of the Democrat before early voting. This gives you, the electorate, one final chance to read about the candidates and some of what they stand for within our pages.

No candidate announcements will appear after The Last Word.

Each office has its own set of questions and each candidate receives the same questions. The May 8 city elections are fast approaching. Early voting begins on April 30. The Last Word will appear in the Friday, April 27 edition of the Suwannee Democrat.

We will give you our recommendations for each seat as well as the Live Oak Charter amendments on Wednesday, April 25.

Candidates, watch your mailboxes. The Last Word questions, with instructions and deadline, was mailed out on Monday, April 9. We must have them back by the noted deadline in the letter, or your last word will be left out.
