Wayne Stalvey
Wayne Stalvey, 56, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2007. The Hamilton County native was born Sept. 28, 1950 to the late Lander and Helen Westberry Stalvey. He loved driving his big trucks and working in his yard. Stalvey was a graduate of Hamilton County High School and served his country as part of the national guard.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Stalvey of Jasper, Florida; four sons, Robert W. Stalvey of Jasper, Florida, Sean Stalvey of Jacksonville, Florida and Rodney Poindexter and Shannon Poindexter, both of Oklahoma; two daughters, Heather Stalvey of Jacksonville, Florida and Terrie Hunter of White Springs, Florida; one brother, Richard Stalvey of Lake City, Florida; two sisters, Janet Edwards of Lake Park, Georgia and Debbie Collier of Augusta, Georgia; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Sunday, April 1 at Wayne and Deborah’s home.
Harry T. Reid Funeral Homes of Jasper, Florida was in charge of all arrangements.
Alyce Kahle
Alyce Kahle, 83, of Dowling Park, Florida, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 after a long illness. The Tampa, Florida native moved to Dowling Park, Florida in 1970 and was a member of Melody Christian Life Center, Live Oak, Florida.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandi Shells of Live Oak, Florida; one brother, W.A. Walker Jr. of Live Oak, Florida; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 30 in Bixler East Cemetery, Dowling Park, Florida.

Lola Pauline Terry
Lola Pauline Terry, 83, of White Springs, Florida, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 in Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida after a short illness. The Moulton, Alabama native moved to White Springs, Florida from Paw Paw, Michigan 27 years ago, was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife for 50 years. She attended and was a board member of White Springs Church of God.
Terry was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Luther Terry, her father and mother, B.D. and Lillie Mae Sparks, two sons, Merlin Roger Terry and Luther Paul Terry, one sister, Lillie Pearl Roden, brothers, John Britt Sparks, Parker Elmer Sparks, Ira Leo Sparks, Walter Dempsey Sparks and Delmer Ford Sparks.
Survivors include her brother, Guy Elbert Sparks of Hillsboro, Alabama; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her friends Richard and Pat Evans.
Funeral services will be conducted in Trinity, Alabama in Parkway Funeral Home at a later date.

Donald Deese
Donald Deese, 68, of McAlpin, Florida, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 in Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida. The lifelong Suwannee County native was a truck driver for the past eight years for Waste Management. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mayo, Florida and Friendship Baptist Church in Live Oak.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Deese and Tina Deese, both of Cocoa, Florida; one son, Donald Deese of Cocoa, Florida; four sisters, Betty Jackson of Mayo, Florida, Margaret Azar and Elizabeth Hoffer, both of Melbourne, Florida and Cathy Piche of Cocoa, Florida; and one brother, R.C. Deese of Live Oak, Florida.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Wednesday, April 4 in Friendship Baptist Church, Live Oak, Florida.

A Suwannee County fifth grader mesmerized students, parents and faculty during the Suwannee Intermediate School Spring Talent Show Thursday evening.
Brittanie Powell performed “I Will Always Love You” which was immortalized by the late Whitney Houston. It was Brittanie’s first performance and she selected the song a few weeks ago after watching a contestant perform it on American Idol. -
