A Wellborn woman lost her life in a mobile home fire early Thursday.
Sharon Sheddan, 37, of 589 NW Union Park Road, Wellborn, died in the 5 a.m. fire, said David Boozer, division chief of Columbia County Fire/Rescue.
The cause of the fire was unknown at press time.
According to Don Sheddan, Sharon's brother-in-law, she and husband Bill's two children, a five-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, were in the home when the fire began but escaped through a bedroom window. Bill Sheddan was at work at the time.
