$100,000 EMBEZZLED FROM CAR DEALERSHIP, REPORT POLICE

The bookkeeper at a local car dealership has been jailed on charges of first-degree grand theft and 44 counts of fraud and cheating, jail records indicate.

Diane Nicole Goodson, 36, of 22163 96th Street, allegedly embezzled more than $100,000 from Mott Buick in Live Oak, according to Chief Deputy Ron Colvin of the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office. Goodson was arrested and booked into the Suwannee County Jail Wednesday.

According to sheriff's reports, the dealership's owner told Sgt. Jeff Cameron of the SCSO that between Jan. 1 and June 26, 2008 Goodson stole from the company's daily bank deposits.

Goodson remained in the Suwannee County Jail as of Thursday. Bond had not been set by press time.
