Just when you thought it was safe to go into the districts again ... Re-district III, the final chapter, I hope.
In its infinite or is it finite wisdom, the Florida High School Athletic Association has published the amended, amended districts. Suwannee will be in a district with Baker, Raines, Ribault, Santa Fe and Baldwin. Baldwin replaces Ponte Vedra and Santa Fe re-enters. This will still allow Suwannee to play Madison, Columbia, Hamilton, Perry and Fort White as non-district games.
Madison has moved up to our classification, 2A, and will play Wakulla, Rickards and Godby. This will be the first district our district will meet in the first round of the playoffs. In other words, there is a chance Suwannee and Madison could play each other twice in the same season. Why did Madison move up? The answer is Bolles.
The FHSAA has still not found a way to address the inequities of private school competition.
