A Live Oak teenager was critically injured in a crash on SR 51 early today, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Jessica L. Green, 17, was hurt when a 2001 GMC pickup struck a fence and overturned after leaving the roadway at about 3:20 a.m., FHP said. Green was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon at Shands UF.
Two other occupants of the vehicle, 20-year-old Floyd W. Stalker, Lake City, and Blake E. Thomas, 26, of O’Brien, suffered minor injuries. Thomas was treated at Shands Live Oak. Stalker was not hospitalized.
It is not yet clear which of the three occupants was driving, said FHP. Charges are pending further investigation.
Green and Thomas were ejected during the crash. FHP said none of the three was wearing a seat belt in the crash, which occurred about 13 miles south of Live Oak.
