MOTORCYCLE CRASH CLAIMS WOMAN’S LIFE
A 40-year-old Live Oak woman critically hurt in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon has died of her injuries, Shands UF spokesperson Jeff Kelly said Monday. Stacy L. Holcomb was declared brain dead at 12:08 p.m. Sunday, according to Kelly.
The driver of the motorcycle, Dennis E. Dewald, 47, also of Live Oak, was listed in critical condition, according to Kelly.
Reports state the two were riding on CR 49 Saturday around 4 p.m. when the motorcycle traveled onto the east shoulder of the roadway and overturned at the intersection of 87th Road.
The two were flown to Shands UF. They were not wearing helmets, according to FHP. Charges are pending, FHP said.
